Three Volvo FMX 10x6 pushers with single mounted tyres are in use at the Gala-Mibrag project in Profen, East Germany. The trucks are being used for transport of several raw materials on very heavy duty terrain over a distance of 700 – 1500 meters one-way.

Project description

Gala Mibrag removes the overburden before the bucket wheel excavator can mine. The large bucket wheel excavator cannot reach all corners of the pit and therefore Gala has to excavate and transport that material.

PUSHERS UNLOAD DIRECTLY ONTO THE CONVEYER BELT

The material has to be distributed evenly onto the conveyer belt to prevent misalignment of the binders. That’s why pushers are perfectly fit for this project. These trucks can unload evenly with a steady speed, which makes it possible to unload directly onto the conveyer belt.

SINGLE MOUNTED FOR BEST TRACTION

The road conditions are heavy: 20-50% dragline mats and 50-80% peatland. The single mounted tyres are therefore perfect; they result in less ground pressure and load on the dragline mats.

"We are now working with the pushers for one year and we can conclude that the reliability of the trucks is very good. We achieve a lower fuel consumption compared to traditional dump trucks, in combination with a high payload. So in a shorter amount of time, we can transport more material with these trucks"
